ICode Global Hackathon: Indian Students From Tier II & III Cities Make Up For Over 75% Of The Finalists

ICode Global Hackathon, an international coding competition organized by ICode, has finally concluded its global round with a bang. The best part is that 10 of the top 50 students who advanced to the final stage of this global hackathon belong to the Indian nationality. 

The hackathon, whose registration started in January 2021, attracted a phenomenal response from parents and students across more than 22 countries. The event witnessed massive participation from India, with over 40,000 registrations. After qualifying the multiple regional and national rounds, a total of 57 students from India qualified to participate in the global round of ICode of which 10 students reached the finals.

What is ICode?

ICODE.ORG is a worldwide social impact platform that ensures that every k-12 kid learns to code effortlessly. The Israel-based organization works in tandem with the Israeli Ministry of Education and has a presence in over 70 countries. The organization strives to provide students with access to a computer or mobile device, regardless of their location or other societal constraints, to help them learn to code for free.
