IGNOU adds to its ODL series, launches Certificate in Mobile Application Development Programme (CMAD)
IGNOU is definitely on a beaver-mode. After launching a Master’s programme in Sanskrit, Diploma course in Animal Welfare, BSc in Biochemistry through open and distance learning mode (ODL), it has now launched another interesting certification course - Certificate in Mobile Application Development Programme (CMAD). The course will follow the credit system just like its other programmes.
The key objectives of the CMAD programme include understanding the requirements for the development of mobile applications for various purposes, analyzing the architecture of Android Design, implementing and testing a database for user requirements, developing mobile apps using Android and programs using Python, and using IDEs such as Android Studio.
Programme structure of CMAD
The CMAD programme by IGNOU will five courses and every course will have two components - assignment and term-end examination. The course titles are as follows:
- Introduction to Mobile Architecture
- Introduction to Databases
- Introduction to Android
- Programming using Python
- Laboratory Course (Includes practicals of following courses: Introduction to Databases, Introduction to Android, Programming using Python)
Being a credit-course, each credit will count to 30 hours of study comprising all learning objectives. For instance, a four-credit course includes 120 study hours and an eight credit course includes 240 study hours. To get a certificate, the student has to earn 16 credits over a period of 1 semester.
Other important details:
- Any aspiring student with a 10+2 or 10th standard with 2 or 3 years Diploma course or any equivalent degree
- The duration of CMAD is 6 months or 1 semester
- The fee of the entire course is INR 5000 for CMAD and INR 200 for programme
- Any person who is interested in developing Mobile APPS can enroll in it
- During the duration of the course, no printed material will be provided
