IIM Calcutta Summer Placements 2022; 570 Offers for 476 Students from 142 Firms!

IIM Calcutta recently wrapped its summer internship placements for the batch of 2022 with 100% placements and a record-breaking 570 offers for 476 students! Here is a round-up of the placement drive.

Carried out virtually, the IIM Calcutta Summer Placements drive for the batch of 2022 witnessed the participation of a total of 142 firms with the finance sector making the highest number of hires (121 students). The students received coveted offers with an average and median monthly stipends around INR 1.4 Lakh and stipends higher than INR 2 lakh per month for the top 25 percent of students.

Major highlights of the IIM Calcutta Summer Placements 2022

• A total of 50 extra offers (Hold & Wait) and 36 extra offers (Dreams) were made which allowed all students to hold multiple offers and enabled companies to find a better Company-Student fit.
  
  
• The finance and consulting sector made the highest number of offers, 121 and 120 respectively, which accounted for 50% of total hires. Top names in the finance sector like Bank of America, Blackstone, Macquarie and top consulting firms like Accenture Strategy, Bain & Co., Boston Consulting Group, McKinsey & Co pitched in the drive.
  
  
• Sales & marketing rolled out 19% of the total offers closely followed by general management which accounted for 13% of total hires. The top recruiters included big names like Aditya Birla Group, Hindustan Unilever Limited, ITC, Mahindra, Mondelez, Nestle, Procter & Gamble, Star Disney, Tata Administrative Services, and others.
  
  
• Software services and e-commerce brands such as Adobe, Amazon, Flipkart, Google,  Microsoft, and new-age startups like Byju’s, Navi Technologies, OLX, Swiggy, and Unacademy accounted for nearly 10% of hires.
