If you ask any alumni from any B-school of India and ask him about the top 5 things he misses in his life, I am sure one of the answers would be “Campus life of my B-school”. Irrespective of your background, campus life has always been a strong element of B-School life. It helps us give the right direction with amazing moments. So, allow me to take you on a tour of the campus of one of the coveted B-schools of India, IIM Indore.

Coffee Culture at IIM Indore

The love affair of an MBA grad and coffee go hand in hand in a B-School. As we enter into our B-School life, it is a very exciting journey. However, eventually one is unable to guess how B-School journey becomes hectic with time. It was certainly a shock for me as I was sleeping 6 hours a day. Following the numerous resume iterations, pre-process for numerous prestigious PORs, placement meets and surprise corporate assignments with a rigorous schedule, we have always stay sleep-deprived.

So how does one survive the first term of an MBA school? Here comes our savior, Coffee. And it is brilliantly put by American actress Fran Drescher, who says, "Once you wake up and smell the coffee, it’s hard to go back to sleep.” We often visit the nearest coffee ‘adda’ to avoid dozing off. But not everything is gloomy as it is this phase which gives us amazing friends. Well, not everything seems gloomy with hard work. During this phase, we get a chance to succeed in our careers. It also gives us immediate returns in the form of good summer placements.

Section wars and campus culture

Section wars play a vital role in the B-School life of IIM Indore. It creates a bond within students and creates healthy competition between different sections.

Let’s talk about the cultural section war where we form friendship bonds and networks within our section. We have a lot of fun activities such as a ramp walk, dancing, singing, meme-making, photography, gaming, and freshers quiz. In a nutshell, it is the event where one can showcase their talent. Among all, our Section-F has been winning the cultural section war for the last 3 years. Winning it again would be one of the most cherished memories of my B-School life.

Now, here comes the Sports Section War. If the cultural section war was able to bring out hidden Arijit Singhs and Neha Kakkars in us, sports section war was able to bring out Messi and Kohli in us. Some of the events in this section included football, tug of war, cricket, badminton, arm-wrestling, etc. Winning one of the events has always been a dream of every student of every section of IIM Indore.

Fests and extra-curricular activities at IIM Indore

We have one of the biggest management fests in India. IIM Indore has its flagship event, IRIS, which hosts events such as Zero One Infinity, Klueless and Chain Reaction. We also have Utsaha, which is one of the few events which gives practical training of both urban and rural Marketing. Also, we have i5summit, where we get to interact with renowned professionals from different industries. One of the social events such as 'Udaan' gives us the chance to do something for society.

With the myriad of opportunities, IIM Indore has a rich campus culture. I feel lucky not only to study in a college with the brightest minds of our nation but also to study in a college with such a rich campus culture and life.
