Naveen Krishna Rai, a resident of Birpur village in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, might be an unknown name to us, but to the locals, he is nothing short of a hero. Because of him, the district's name has shone prominently on the map of India and people all around have come to know of Birpur.
At present, Naveen is the Manager of Government Affairs and Business Development at IIM Indore. However, Naveen owes his fame to the activities he had engaged in back in his home district. Because of his work, he has been facilitated by many organizations, including IIM Indore where he is an employee now.
Who Is Naveen Krishna Rai?
So, what is Naveen Krishna Rai really? A B.Tech graduate from the Madan Mohan Malviya University of Technology (MMUT) in Gorakhpur, Naveen Krishna Rai started as a volunteer with Bharat Abhyudaya Foundation. Over there he worked on grassroots issues, such as elementary education, communication, and social services.

After just 4 months of experience, Naveen set out to build his own initiative from the grassroots and succeeded big time in it. At that time, he was still completing his B.Tech degree. The initiative he started was called the Rural Youth Leadership Program which aimed to build leadership capability among youths living in rural societies so that they can take charge of matters on the ground.

In an interview given to a news portal, IAS Ranjan Kumar said that he appreciates the work done by Naveen as it helped the government to implement many skilling and vocational training schemes. More than 100 students from multiple schools in Uttar Pradesh were provided vocational training under this scheme.
"I felt very pleased to guide and help Naveen and his initiative," IAS Ranjan Kumar said, talking about his past association with Naveen. In his Twitter bio, Naveen describes himself as a political thinker, engineer, and strategist.
In spite of all the success that Naveen has achieved, his life was not easy at all. His father, who was a havaldar in the Indian Army, died when Naveed was young. Since then, his mother has been running the family with the help of family pension.
As a self-made man, Naveen’s success stands out even more because of the hardship he has faced all his life. His story shows that with determination, everything is possible.
More On-Ground Initiatives And Even Better Impact
Naveen, on the other hand, was showing no signs of stopping just there. With his involvement in social services, his association with the bureaucrats also grew steadily and soon he decided to adopt a village along with the former commissioner of Gorakhpur, Mr. P. Guruprasad.
The village is called Motiram Adda and it's located in the Khorawar block in Gorakhpur. Over there, Naveen extensively talked about the different schemes of the government and made them aware so that they can take advantage of them.
Naveen's next collaboration was with the DM of Chandauli district in Uttar Pradesh. Together they started the Mission Margdarshak initiative, under which a step was taken to ensure the timely attendance of teachers in government schools.

A specially designed program called 'Attendance With Selfies' was started were school teachers had to register attendance via a selfie while entering the school. Soon, this was picked up by the Chandauli administration and was implemented in all 1500 schools in the district.
In fact, after Chandauli, it was picked up by the Uttar Pradesh government which decided to implement the scheme in all the schools in the state.
By this time, Naveen Krishna Rai had become famous and his success was catching the eyes of everyone. As a result, he was made the Brand Ambassador for the development of Naugarh tehsil. During his time as the brand ambassador, he has also worked with MLA Dhananjay Kanonjiya as his representative and directly engaged in political issues.
