Tell us something about your work experience. What policies have been implemented in your state for its betterment? What is your biggest failure? Doing an MBA without work- experience is a waste of time. What do you think about this? What do you want to do in life, how will an MBA help you in this endeavour? What do you prefer- Morals or Ethics? If your company MD comes to you and asks you to choose any one department to head, what would you choose?

How will IIM-C help you to achieve your goals? Have you ever organized any events in your college? What are your strengths and weaknesses? Perform a cost-benefit analysis of your job before and after your MBA. What do you mean by ethics? How will it help a company over the long term? What will you do if you do not get selected in IIM-C? What would be your first step if you asked to launch a product in the market in the next 4 months?

4. MBA interview questions: IIM Lucknow

Why do you want to pursue an MBA when you are already placed? Which company would you like to work in after your MBA? Why are you interested in the Agro Business Management Course? Which management courses have you studied in your graduation? What did you do in your internship during graduation? Which field do you want to work in? Which is your dream MBA college?

5. MBA interview questions: IIM Indore

If you say you like to travel, which is your favorite location? Details about the history of that location. Which other IIMs have you received interview calls from? Which IIM will you go to if you get selected in all IIMs? If you were to recommend changes to your current company as a consultant, what would they be and why? Have you read the latest budget? What are the key highlights of the budget? Which was your favorite subject at graduation? Where do you see yourself 5 years from now?

What is the difference between purpose and goal? What is the difference between organizational structure and organizational culture? What are your hobbies? What are the biggest problems that NGOs are facing today? What do you mean by CSR? Why do organizations promote CSR? Tell us about any incident where you had a conflict with your friend or colleague. Describe a situation where your leadership skills were challenged.

What do you know about IIM Shillong? Do you think work experience is necessary for a B-School or not? What do you consider the biggest achievement in your life? Tell me other than your hobbies, the things you are interested in. Name a popular tourist place in your state and what is its historical significance.  Describe yourself in one line. Do you consider getting a Shillong call an achievement? What if you do not get selected?

8. MBA interview questions: IIM Trichy

Do ethics and business go hand in hand? What are the loopholes in the Indian education system? Which college would you choose among IIM-A, B, and C? Do you idealize any businessman? Describe the event that has impacted your life drastically? What do your friends think about you? What do you want to become-entrepreneur or businessman? Which brands’ clothes are you wearing right now? Tell one situation where you displayed your leadership skills.

Tell 3 incidents from the recent past on national or international issues that have ethical issues related to it. Tell us about an instance where you had to stick to your values. What does IIM Udaipur mean to you? Why do you want to join Udaipur? What according to you are the qualities that are required to become a team person? What makes you different from the rest of the candidates coming for the interview? What would you do if you do not make it through this year? What were the students outside the room talking about?

IIM interview is considered to be tough. After all, it is designed to select candidates for one of the most sought-after MBA institutes in India. The above questions would have given you a good idea of the type of questions that could be asked in the IIM interview. But are you still worried about how to prepare for the IIM interview? Here are some essential tips that can ease your journey.

Before the interview:

• Once you start getting IIM interview calls, join some practice mock interview courses. They certainly help to pump up your confidence and enable you to understand your shortcomings. 
• Conduct an in-depth analysis of the hot current topics before facing the final interview. You should be thoroughly aware of all the latest happenings taking place in India and around the world. 

During the interview:

• When facing the interview panel, be extremely honest. Do not try to bluff them as it might pan out negatively for you. 
• The panel may try to divert or confuse you. In such cases, be calm, stick to your basics, keep a smile on your face, and don't let your nervousness show across. It is actually a test of your confidence.  
• Don't flaunt something that you don't know. It will backfire. For example, if you have a vague idea of a complex concept, refrain from using it in your answers. The panel may try to dig deep into it and you may find yourself stuck. 
• In the case of puzzle-type or guesstimate questions, focus on the approach rather than the final answer. That is what the panel is looking for.
