It was hard for me to blend with new people
Initially, I was very nervous. I wondered if I would be able to gel well with the new crowd which had students from all 28 states and union territories. However, landing in a B-school was the beginning of one of the most amazing experiences of anyone's life. Initially, you get into the shape of an ideal MBA grad through rigorous challenges, assignments and co-curricular activities that break all the ice between you and all the new faces around you. Before you even know it, you become a part of the new family.
You tend to remember most of the names effortlessly and everything that was scaring you from interacting with each other. You find friends, boyfriends, girlfriends, stupid friends, lazy friends and keep discovering the category with time.
After so much enjoyment and drama during induction week there comes a season of case competitions where you can test your intelligence. You can actually feel the heat of being a part of a B-school. These competitions are real-time problems that the company faces. And what can be better than to reach out to innovative and creative minds in a B-school? These competitions are organized by companies that rule the roost in the market. Winning feels like claiming the iron throne from the famous Games of Thrones. During this period, you truly understand how to approach a case and give feasible solutions. Corporate Case competitions and induction week are just the beginning of this life. Campus culture remains incomplete without innumerable activities which also include activities by clubs and committees.
The beauty of campus culture
Apart from managing the regular classes, group assignments and deadlines from various projects, we learn to manage all activities flawlessly. Yes, we party hard, we dance during various festivals, we sing in open-mic nights, we play Uno till 4:00 am in the morning, we talk, we gossip, we study hard, we are hardcore gamers; be it NFS, Counterstrike or FIFA World Cup. Above all, we still manage our studies and grades. I know, it might sound so unbelievably weird. Well, slowly, you will realize that even after having limited time you can do so much more than you can think of. This shows that we are capable of doing much more than one can think of.
The beauty of campus culture might seem chaotic to someone who does not belong here. But, to us, it is the most meaningful experience that conditions us to be better leaders. It teaches us to think “out of the box “solutions to real-time problems. Every day, we grow because we learn and manage. This campus does really well in bringing the best of everyone to the common ground.
