IIT Bombay has shown a green flag to the registration process for the Undergraduate Common Entrance Exam for Design (UCEED) 2021. Aspiring candidates are requested to visit the official website – uceedapp.iitb.ac.in for further information. The date for the exam has been decided and is scheduled to be held on January 17th, 2021. The duration of the UCEED 2021 examination will be of three hours (9 AM to 12 noon) and will take place in about 24 different cities of India.
Who is eligible to take UCEED 2021?
The eligibility criterion to apply for UCEED 2021 is that the student must have either passed his 12th board examination or any other examination of equivalent value in 2020 or is appearing in the same examination in 2021. The streams (Science, Commerce, Humanities) are no barriers and students from any stream can apply for UCEED 2021.
Candidates who belong to the EWS/OPEN/OBC-NCL category can apply for the examination only if they have been born on or after October 1st, 1996. As far as students applying in the PwD, SC or ST category are concerned, they should have been born on or after October 1st, 1991.
Other important details
The admit card for UCEED 2021 or the hall ticket of the examination will be released on January 1st, 2021 and the results are likely to be declared on March 10th, 2021. The marks obtained by the students who take the UCEED 2021 examination shall stay valid for a year. It is only a maximum of two times, in consecutive years, that candidates can take the UCEED examination.
There is no bar of nationality to apply for the UCEED 2021 examination. Anyone who stays in India or abroad can apply for the same. Candidates who successfully qualify the entrance test will then be eligible for admission into the B.Des (Bachelor of Design) programme. The institutes that offer this programme are IIT Hyderabad, IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati and IITDM Jabalpur.
The UCEED 2021 examination will be duly conducted by IIT Bombay, under the aegis of the UCEED-CEED Implementation Committee 2021.
