The registration process for IIT JAM (Joint Admission Test) 2021 has begun at jam.iisc.ac.in. Aspiring candidates are requested to register themselves at the official website and submit their online application. The last date for uploading all the necessary documents is October 15th, 2020.
The IIT JAM 2021 is organised by IISc (Indian Institute of Science), Bangalore and the admit card for the same is likely to be released on January 5th, 2021.
Eligibility Criteria
As far as the date of IIT JAM 2021 is considered, it is scheduled to take place on February 14th, 2021. Only those students who hold a Bachelor's degree are eligible to take the exam of IIT JAM 2021.
In their qualifying Bachelor's degree, students' CGPA or aggregate marks should be a minimum of 55% or 5.5 CGPA out of 10, without rounding off, if they are from the General, OBC-NCL, or EWS category. For students applying through SC, ST, or PwD category, the aggregate marks should be a minimum of 50% or 5.0 CGPA out of 10.
Registration Fees
For candidates who belong from the General category, the application fees for one paper of IIT JAM 2021 is INR 1,500 and INR 2,100 for two papers. All the female candidates and applicants from SC, ST, or PwD category will have to pay INR 750 in order to register for one paper and INR 1,050 for two papers.
Computer-based online examination
The IIT JAM 2021 examination will be a CBT (Computer-based Test) that will be conducted online for both the test papers and is scheduled to take place in two different shifts. Candidates who successfully qualify the entrance test will then be eligible to apply to IITs and IISc Bangalore, seeking admissions into M.Sc courses (PG level). The marks obtained by the candidates in IIT JAM 2021 will be the deciding factor for their admissions into the concerned colleges.

The IIT JAM 2021 will have seven papers, which are -
- Economics
- Biotechnology
- Chemistry
- Physics
- Mathematical Sciences
- Mathematics
- Geology
The paper of Economics is a recent addition this year.
The IIT JAM 2021 entrance examination will be an objective-type question paper. There will be at least 3 separate question patterns -
- Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
- Multiple Select Questions (MSQs)
- Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions
The results for IIT JAM 2021 are set to be declared on March 20th, 2021.
