IIT Kharagpur invites students to learn Data Analytics

IIT Kharagpur is currently inviting students to apply for a certificate course on Data Analytics. In tough times like these, it is an initiative by the premier institute to provide quality education to anyone who is interested in learning from the IITs.

IIT Kharagpur’s online course, on the ‘Introduction to R Programming and Data Analytics’ is a short-term course that shall be conducted by the Vinod Gupta School of Management (VGSoM) of the IIT Kharagpur. Successful completion of the course shall result in participants and students receiving a certificate both by the VGSoM and IIT Kharagpur.

The course shall be conducted over a short period of time by the faculty members of IIT Kharagpur and by Professor Swagato Chatterjee of VGSoM, who is also the principal coordinator of the course. The vision of the online course is to help students achieve a hands-on usage of R programming, data analytics, and its practical applications in the real-life. Besides this, participants who apply to this course shall get to know in-depth knowledge regarding data handling with R, introduction to probability and statistics, distributions, hypothesis testing, and regression with R programming.

The registrations for the online course on Data Analytics shall begin on November 7th, 2020. This short-term online course shall be conducted over a period of 20 days, on weekends (Saturday and Sunday) for three hours, until 27th November 2020.

Offering an interactive training of about 15 hours, the course welcomes engineering students, instructors, working professionals, people from industrial backgrounds, technical assistants, pass-outs, and teachers. The short-term online course is inclusive of the lecture sessions, along with discussions on different cases, hands-on-training and live problems.

As informed, the last date to register for the online course on Data Analytics shall be November 1st, 2020. It shall cost INR 8,000 for others and INR 6,000 for students to apply for the same.
