The Indian Navy has published a notification for selection to 10+2 (B.Tech) Cadet Entry Scheme for a four-year course (Permanent Commission) for unmarried male candidates. Selected candidates of the four-year B.Tech course will be inducted as Cadets in Applied Electronics & Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electronics & Communication Engineering as per Naval requirements. After completion of the course, the B.Tech Degree will be awarded by Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU).
Important dates
The online application process for Indian Navy Recruitment 2021 is scheduled to commence on 29 January 2021, and the applications close on 9 February 2021.
How to apply for Indian Navy?
Candidates are expected to register and submit their applications on the website for recruitment. Candidates should fill in their information and upload documents in advance under their user profile to save time during the application submission window. While completing the e-application, it is advisable to keep the appropriate documentation readily available.
Age limit for applicants
Candidates who are born between 2 January 2002 and 1 July 2004 (both dates inclusive) are eligible to apply.
Eligibility criteria for Indian navy recruitment 2021
Candidates must have passed Senior Secondary Examination (10+2 Pattern) or its equivalent examinations from any board with at least 70 percent aggregate marks in physics, chemistry, and mathematics (PCM) and at least 50 percent marks in English (either in Class X or Class XII).
For candidates who have appeared for the 2020 (B.E./B.Tech) JEE Main test, the Service Selection Board (SSB) call will be given on the basis of JEE (Main) 2020 score.
Shortlisting and SSB interview specifications
The candidates for the SSB Interview will be shortlisted by the MoD (Navy) IHQ on the basis of JEE (Main) All India Rank. SSB interviews for shortlisted candidates will be conducted at Bangalore/Bhopal/Kolkata/Visakhapatnam from March to June 2021.
The SSB interview will take place in two stages:
- The Step 1 test consists of an intelligence test, interpretation of pictures, and discussion in a group.
- The Stage 2 test consists of four days of psychological assessments, group tests, and interviews.
- Applicants who clear the SSB interview are subjected to medical review (approx. duration of 3-5 working days).
