Infosys Limited, the second-largest IT & Services company in India, has announced plans to hire 55,000 fresh graduates in the Financial Year 2022. According to reports, the hiring would be done under the company’s flagship global graduate programme at a time when there is a high attrition rate among major IT companies.

The Bangalore-based IT giant provides consultancy and IT solutions to clients across 50 countries, and it has always prioritized investment in the acquisition and development of young talents.

Nilanjan Das, the Chief Financial Officer at Infosys said in a statement, "Despite the cost escalations driven primarily by supply-side challenges, we delivered another quarter of healthy margins, with improved cost optimization, continued operating leverage and a stable pricing environment."

Das also pointed out that with 55,000 freshers joining the company in FY 2022, the number of fresh hiring would be higher than in the past two years. The company has major plans of scaling up operations this year and the motive behind ramping up the hiring is to support the growth ambitions.

Delivering Value For High Returns

In the first quarter of FY 2022, Infosys has already reported growth rates close to 12% and there is a strong demand for its software and consultancy services which primarily focuses on helping clients with the process of digital transformation.

According to a report by Reuters, Infosys has increased its consolidated net profit from INR 5,197 crore in the previous year to INR 5,809 crore (USD 786 million). On the other hand, the software and services vertical at the company reported a revenue of INR 31,867 crore.
