Recruitment is going on for 20 vacancies at the Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS), a unit of ISRO, on a temporary basis. As research fellows, the selected candidates in the ISRO Recruitment 2022 will work on developing land-ocean-atmosphere applications and understanding the earth’s surface and subsurface processes using space-based technology.

As per the official notification, the selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend of up to INR 56,100 as compensation. There is no online application for the positions and interested & eligible candidates will have to attend the walk-in-interview to qualify.

ISRO Recruitment 2022: Qualifications

  • M.Sc. in Physics, Atmospheric Science, Meteorology, Environmental Science, Remote Sensing & GIS or other relevant subjects. 

Note: Physics and Mathematics as subjects during Graduate level are a must.

  • M.Tech. in Meteorology/ Atmospheric Sciences or Remote Sensing & GIS (other relevant subjects). 
  • M.Sc. in Forestry/ Botany/ Ecology/ Environmental Sciences/ Wildlife Sciences/ Biodiversity & Conservation (or equivalent subject).
  • MSc in Remote Sensing and GIS (or equivalent subject) with a dissertation in either Forestry or Ecology.
  • MTech in remote sensing and GIS or (equivalent subject) with a final dissertation in Ecology or Forestry.
  • BE or BTech in computer science, IT, or Geoinformatics (or equivalent subject).
  • Ph.D. in Agricultural Meteorology/ Agricultural Physics/ Forestry/ Remote Sensing/ Ecology after MSc or MTech in a relevant discipline.

ISRO Recruitment 2022-23: Age Limits

Post Age Limit
Junior Research Fellow (JRF) 28 years
Research Associate 35 years
Research  Scientist

Note: The date of age calculation will be the date of the interview and an additional 5 & 3 years of age relaxation will be given to the SC/ST & OBC candidates respectively.

ISRO Recruitment 2022-23: How To Apply?

Candidates who are interested and eligible for either of the three posts under ISRO recruitment will have to appear for a walk-in interview between 18 to 22 April 2022. There is an application form at the end of the official notification (attached below) which needs to be printed and filled out by the candidate. A physical copy of the duly filled application form will be required on the day of the walk-in-interview. There is no need to send the application form via post to ISRO.
