Latest news on exam dates of JEE Main, NEET, 10th and 12th
Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, the Union Education Minister recently posted on his social media handle (Twitter) to announce that CBSE Class 10th, 12th board examinations would be conducted during May-June 2021. This announcement has put to rest all rumors. Candidates appearing for JEE Main, NEET should be on their toes with the preparation and be ready for the exams.
It should be noted that CBSE has yet to announce the Class 10th, 12th board exams date sheet. Pokhriyal had communicated with students, teachers, and other stakeholders earlier on December 10 and had stated clearly that CBSE Class 10th, 12th board exams 2021 may be postponed due to the COVID-19 outbreak, but the administration is determined to conduct the examinations in May-June 2021 and will not scrap the exams.
The government has yet to make any formal confirmation about the dates of the JEE Main 2021 and NEET 2021 examinations, but the Union Minister had claimed during his communication with the students that these competitive exams will not be scrapped and indicated that the students should study for these tests.
"NEET 2021 will not be canceled because the students and the nation would suffer. In 2020, we postponed NEET three times and gave students a flexible option to change their exam centers. We might have terminated the exam, but it would have been a big loss for students and the nation", the minister said.
Important points to remember
The union minister has declared that the examinations will take place between 4th May and 10th June and the results will be released in July.
The CBSE has already narrowed down the syllabus for Class 10th, 12th board exams by 30 percent, but there is no detail on the decrease in the syllabus of competitive exams i.e. JEE Main and NEET. Students have urged the minister to take action to minimize the syllabus for these competitive exams. We can only hope that the requests of the students are considered by the authorities.
