Looking For a Sales Internship? | Sreenath's Internship at RB

The selection process for the internship at RB had the following 4 steps:

CV Shortlisting;

Group Discussion;

Personal Interview 1; and

Personal Interview 2

I cleared all the 4 rounds and got the internship at RB, I had to work on 2 projects. One was an execution project, where I had to execute a promotion plan for the entire portfolio across the country. The second one was a strategic project. For that, I had to find a way to increase the visibility and in turn the sales by modifying the planograms.

During the course of the internship, I got to communicate with various stakeholders (stakeholder management). I learnt presentation and Excel skills, people management, and time management. Besides, I got to understand the practical sides of sales and marketing.

I chose to go for an internship at RB because I wanted to work in the FMCG sector, specifically in the sales department. Moreover, RB (Reckitt Benckiser) is known to be the best in the FMCG sales department.

I had moved to Gurgaon for a period of 2 months for the duration of the internship at RB. The experience was thoroughly enriching. It gave me a holistic experience of working in the sales department of a large FMCG. There was a significant amount of travel involved in it so it became difficult to establish my base in one location.

During the internship at RB there weren't any organized team outings. Having experienced the Sales profile, I realized that the role requires immense dedication and determination. Hence, one has to put extra effort into maintaining a work-life balance. The exposure was an eye-opener for me and I learnt a great deal. It also made me realize the importance of Internship in one's career. It helps you test your hypothesis with respect to the field you think you will be good at.

I am glad I got an opportunity to work with RB and gained insight into my professional self!
