Marico Over The Wall Season 6 National Winner MDI Gurgaon's Sarvagya Kala's Story
I participated in the competition because of the problem statement. It intrigued me to the extent that I was excited to work on it immediately. Also, I found it as a great learning opportunity as the case required us to carry out intense primary research. And I was ready to put in extra hours to make it work.
Initially, it took us time to understand the problem statement as the product we were working on was new to us. As a team, we brainstormed on the target audience, the approach we had to follow, and our recommendations. The most challenging phase was to find the right target audience for primary research.
As far as our team is concerned, I can happily say that all 3 of us complemented each other. Each one of us had different strengths and we tried to utilize them in the most effective manner. It is very common to have conflicts when working in a team. However, we resolved them with constructive debate. Sometimes, we took feedback from our friends and faculty mentors for our ideas and recommendations.
There were six teams in the national corporate round and out of them, only 3 teams made it to the finale. I believe that all the teams had worked really hard and the difference between our scores must have been very less.
I have participated in many corporate competitions but Marico Over The Wall Season 6 was one of the best. Be it the problem statement, the organization in terms of phases and overall judgment- it was amazing. The organizers looked at a holistic solution and they were keen on implementing recommendations given by the teams.
One special moment that I would like to share is the Grand Finale in Harsh Mariwala's boardroom. We got a chance to interact with him and I feel that it was the highlight of our journey.
