The National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE), situated near Vihar Lake in Mumbai, is a public institute. Formed by the Government of India in the year 1963 and registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860, the institute offers courses in management, engineering, and fellowships at the doctoral level. The institution was ranked 12th in the NIRF ranking 2020 of top MBA institutes and has become a sought after college for students across the country. NITIE Mumbai has recently announced the opening of applications for MBA admission 2021.

- Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Management (PGDIM)
- Post Graduate Diploma in Sustainability Management (PGDISM)
Eligibility criteria and important dates
PGDIE: Valid GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) score
PGDIM: Valid CAT (Common Aptitude Test) score
PGDSM: Valid CAT/GATE/GRE/GMAT scores

For PGDIE/PGDIM/PGDSM
The candidates should have a full-time B.Tech/B.E degree from an accredited university/college in the related branch along with a 60 percent minimum graduation score. A relaxation of 5 percent will be given to SC/ST/PwD candidates. Final year engineering/Technology candidates can also apply, provided they qualify the above criteria and submit their result by September 30, 2021. If they fail to fulfill the above conditions, their admission will be canceled.

Fellow programs
Applicants with a Master's degree or equivalent in Engineering/Technology, Management, Economics, Commerce, Social Sciences, Life Sciences, and Pure Sciences with 60 percent aggregate marks (55 percent in the case of candidates for SC/ST/PwD from a recognized university/institution may apply. Candidates who appear in the respective domains for their final examination can also apply, provided that they qualify for the requirements set out above, and submit their results by 30 September 2021. Projects/Work Experience/Research Publication will be preferred in the areas listed above.
The registration portal will open in the first week of January 2021. The deadline for closing the registration portal is 1 March 2021, 5:00 PM and the new session will start in June 2021.

The fee will be collected only via online payment methods.
The admission procedure
Admission will be associated with the performance in the online Personal Interview (PI) with sufficient weightage to GATE/CAT/GRE/GMAT scores (as applicable), academic performance, and relevant experiences of reputed Industrial Organization/Academic institution.
As per the Government of India, seats are reserved for SC/ST/OBC-NC (non-creamy) and PwD candidates. As per legislation, teaching assistantships are open to eligible applicants. As per the Ministry of Education guidelines, financial assistance is given only to periodic full-time fellow applicants.
