My career as an MBA student was a nightmare until I met my hero -By Tushar Swami from DBE DU

The registration link to the CAT exam is currently active. I believe every aspirant must have pulled-up their socks by now. They all might be in their hyperactive mode and giving it all they've to prepare for D-Day (24th of November). Even I went through this phase two years ago, I know how hard and pressurizing it gets with time. But thanks to my CAT mentor, MBA Guru (Website), and Unstop (formerly Dare2Compete)for constantly providing me with tips and tricks to nail this sturdy CAT. So here is how my career as an MBA student was a nightmare.

My career as an MBA student in my B-School

When I managed to crack the exam and started my career as an MBA student in my B-School, it felt like a nightmare. Those daunting late-night assignments, group activities, presentations, and class quizzes, all of them were too much for me to handle. I regretted leaving such an amazing job as a consultant at Hitachi Systems. But within the next few days, I met someone. He came like a caped-crusader for me, a savior to deal with my sorrows, the "Man With A Plan" (Okay that went too far!). Well, it was my batchmate and now my best buddy, Aakshit.

He helped me with my activities. We prepared for the quizzes and presentations together and even managed to solve those puzzling case studies. Aakshit has always been there for me, be it learning accounts or finance or ranting about any emotional problem. He's a great listener.

My supporting pillar

But after some time, I realized that he's not just a supporting pillar for me but for most of the batch. I was a little jealous, to be honest. My respect for him grew even more as he was always there for everybody. Also, he is a part of our Placement Committee and never hesitates to give career-counseling to anybody. He even helped a lot of us in preparing for our aptitude exams. Yeah! He's that great. I call him the Nawazuddin of our batch because his famous dialogue from Sacred Games, "Sometimes I feel that I am the God", seems to be apt for Aakshit.

There was a time when things weren't going smooth for him. A company that offered an internship suddenly canceled his offer due to some financial crunch. He was suffering from health anomalies and family problems. But this guy didn't give up and fought through all the odds. He kept on helping me and others during their crisis. What could be a better example of him being an inspiration for all of us?

When Aakshit bagged an internship at Valvoline

I told him, "Don't worry, things might seem to be nasty right now but they'll fall into places very soon, just wait for some time." Well, he did. He bagged an internship at Valvoline which offered him a great role and stipend. And trust me, all of us were happier than him for his internship.

He is a true hero and our batch will always remember him. I’m sure you guys also have a batchmate or a friend who is always ready to help you out. I'd like to thank Unstop (formerly Dare2Compete)for helping me find such a great buddy. It all began with us registering together for the yearly HUL L.I.M.E (2018) competition. And now we take part in every D2C competition as a team.
