Myntra HackerRamp: WeForShe 2021 was the battle of the best -By Team Thinkers, National Finalists
Our heart was on our sleeves when the results for the pre-finale of Myntra HackerRamp: WeForShe 2021 were announced. Seeing the name of our team, Thinkers in the top 7 finalists we jumped up with joy, excitement, and nervousness all at the same time. We were so elated that we could not contain our happiness and started preparing for the finale from that very moment. Here is an excerpt from our journey to becoming the national finalists.
Myntra HackerRamp: WeForShe 2021 being a women-centric event fascinated us to participate in it. We focused objecting on gaining knowledge, implementing our ideas, and competing with the best minds out there. It was one of the biggest competitions we have heard of.
‘Always winning is not important, sometimes the innovation you create is more precious.’ With this thought in our minds, we researched our theme, gathered our ideas, scrutinized our solution to make it the best version of itself. For around 5-6 weeks, we had a lot of sleepless nights, we worked hard each day to improve our solution by adding and altering new and unique features.
No dream is too big, no challenge is too great
The most challenging part was to manage our college classes, tests, quizzes, and most importantly the exams along with the implementation of our idea. Another challenge we faced was fixing the bugs and making our solution workable, bug-free, and smooth.
For us, knowing each other for quite a long time helped us a lot. Although being on-campus and connecting physically was truly missed, being able to work online together was one of a kind experience. Apart from minor opinion clashes, our team worked together with at most team spirit and collaboration. With all hurdles and problems in our way, we finally shined and reached the finals.
You start failing the moment you stop learning
Myntra HackerRamp: WeForShe 2021 was unbiased, well-organized, and smartly coordinated. We mastered many learnings including,
- Teamwork and collaboration
- Social and emotional learning
- Dealing with conflicting opinions and ideas
- New technology
- Time management
In the finale, there were 7 teams including ours. Every team was equally strong and well-prepared. But the team which was the toughest competitor was team Mystic Maidens from BITS Pilani (Hyderabad Campus), primarily as they were in their masters and were more experienced and skilled. No doubt, their idea was also very innovative, different, and well-prepared.
Not forgetting to mention our most special moment which has to be when we got in the finals. What is even more memorable was getting a chance to interact with powerful and respected members of the jury!
