In a LinkedIn post, the CEO shared the story of hiring someone who didn't fit the conventional hiring bracket. His best hire, Laiba, never submitted a resume and had zero work experience. Instead, she uploaded a video application on LinkedIn, showcasing her skills and enthusiasm. Intrigued by her bold approach, Tasleem took a chance and hired her. Six months later, Laiba has become an equity partner with the CEO, runs all his agency operations and has been slaying it with her performance.
Breaking the Barriers
Tasleem’s experience with his Gen Z hire highlights the value of looking beyond conventional hiring practices. He emphasized that "99% of all jobs can be taught" and urged hiring managers to focus on a candidate’s willingness to learn rather than relying solely on polished resumes as proof of talent.
The post has sparked a wave of positive responses, with many applauding the CEO's innovative approach to hiring. One of the comments reads, "No doubt, a great manager who is open-minded and willing to teach knows gold, even if it's inside a rock. The hunger to grow, learn, and improve should be a must when hiring. You never know, that person with no experience might grow to become your best employee.
