Post internship experience that changed my perspective -By Sarbani Bagchi from BHU Varanasi
Remembering my internship phase, it seems yesterday when I packed my bags with a vision to test my corporate mindset. And just in a blink of my eyes, I found myself sitting on the second bench of my old classroom. With trees rustling gently outside the window, I was waiting for the lecturer to come. Moreover, I expected a stack of assignments too. So, here is my post-internship experience that changed my perspective about college life.
When I missed my corporate cubicle
I can’t stop reminiscing about the green and yellow-tinged cubicle. It was the corner where I sat with my laptop, hustling to pitch my clients. It was a completely enriching experience for me. However, it felt like a downer to be back to normalcy. But that’s how life works!
The first two college days post-internship were about batchmates sharing their internship journey. However, eventually, all those feelings began to fade away because of the pressure of project submissions, presentations, assignments and activity clubs.
Getting back to college life
Getting used to the academic schedule was too painful for me. On the other side, juniors seemed eager to hear our post-internship MBA experience. So, I went explaining their dos and don’ts much like a mentor. My internship made me realize the value of lectures and assignments in shaping my professional persona. The pressure of project submissions felt blissful when it was replaced with professional deadlines.
Well, the words of wisdom learnt during my college life will become lifetime assets that I can bank on to.
So I end my journey with a saying, “Living has taught me the true application of theories and concepts I once struggled to understand”.
