Campus engagements kick off even before college begins!
Capgemini and Procter & Gamble have taken student engagements and pre-placement interviews to another level with their recent programs namely, Capgemini L’ menu and Procter & Gamble Emerging Leaders Program. They target the best management students for an all-expense-paid workshop and industry immersion program. This begins a two-way conversation between companies and students, prior to the student’s introduction to the clogs of a B-School.
Capgemini L’ meneur – E.L.I.T.E. Leadership Workshop
Students, from selected top 9 Management Institutes (FMS-D, IIM-A, IIM-B, IIM-C, IIM-L, IIM-I, IIM-K, SP Jain-Mumbai, XLRI-J), were invited to join the L’ meneur platform and were given the opportunity to attend a 2-day workshop in Mumbai and receive Pre-placement interviews for their Summer Placements. The selection process had 3 phases, each of which was an elimination round. The first round involved the screening of Cvs. The second phase asked students to send video snippets of their opinion on a given topic. The final, third phase, involved evaluative as well as educational takeaways. That gave the selected students a PPI for their summer placements along with goodies to sweeten the deal.
Procter & Gamble Emerging Leaders Program
P&G Emerging Leaders Program was open tofull-time MBA/PGDM Program studentsof IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, IIM Calcutta, IIM Lucknow, XLRI Jamshedpur, SPJIMR Mumbai, and ISB Hyderabad/Mohali. The application process required the candidates to fill in the P&G application and to appear for an online test, submit a one page CV and a proof of admission from one of the colleges mentioned above.
The program involved a 2-day fully paid workshop which exposed the candidates to the FMCG industry as well as P&G as an organization. The selected applicants were given a tour of all functional departments at the Mumbai headquarters of the largest FMCG company. It allowed the students to learn advanced business skills from present Business Leaders and Employees. The hands-on tour of the company office and an in-depth understanding of the industry gave the students a sneak-peek into the corporate world even before they started their journey in B-schools.
Both the programs had the aim of gathering a pool of students with strong academic and leadership track records. Offering them Summer Internships was another way of cementing the newly forged bond.
These programs hit the news-stands for reaching out and creating stickiness with the student body. This is a great way to identify raw talent before they enter the system and mold themselves in a particular manner. Their MBA journey can then groom and engage these young leaders.
In conclusion, this goes to show the acute interest that companies take in the whole process of hiring worthy talent! This could be that Golden Formula that helps recruiters gain the mindshare at B-Schools.
The ever-evolving Employer Branding Space is beaming with new and revolutionary ideas. This can mean only mean one thing. Progress for the entire space.
