Pursuing an MBA helped me push my limits -By Utkarsh Rangnekar from GIM Goa
Pursuing an MBA was a logical choice
Getting into an MBA course seemed like a logical choice because it gave me an opportunity to explore my options. Moreover, it allowed me to venture into a completely unexplored area. I appeared for CATs, XATs, and other entrance exams and got a list of decent colleges. I finally ended up into the Goa Institute of Management (GIM). It was really attractive to me because it seemed like a place where I could step out of my comfort zone and learn more. And that’s how pursuing an MBA became a reality.
GIM is situated in Poriem, Sanquelim in Goa. What really sets it apart right from the onset is the surroundings. The institute is surrounded by a lush green atmosphere between the hills. The surroundings reflect peace and tranquility while the mornings were always so zen. Talking about the institute’s pretty picture, there is an energetic vibe everywhere. Our institute is a second home for people from so many different places and cultures with a very diverse set of experiences.
The inspiring rich culture of GIM
The curriculum of the course is also very student-centric as it focuses on our overall learning and future-readiness through a very engaging and inclusive teaching style. At the same time, the plethora of students, clubs, and societies of our college ensure that we spend our time productively with activities, events, and competitions that are both professional and fun. The cultural fabric of our college inspires the students to explore and learn more, to expand their horizons. The curriculum also inspires students to work in their streams with great energy beyond our imagination.
This atmosphere also inspires strong friendships, connections, and the students always stay connected to this place, even after they graduate. This college slowly becomes a big part of our lives that we just cannot ignore. And what should we say about the party life in Goa? Well, it certainly strengthens this bond. I have had the pleasure of being a part of a fantastic gang of friends. Moreover, I have picked up writing again.
I reminisced about my campus life and the little things that make it worthwhile. The hot cup of tea in the cold midnight wind, a plate of Maggi with ten slobbering mouths around it, the late-night group study sessions with more chit-chats have been the best. After leaving this campus life, I don’t know about my future. I don’t even want to know because pursuing an MBA was always fun.
