The ideation challenge aims to spur the spirit of entrepreneurship in the student community of the country and test their capacity to push the envelope.

Tata Steel TomorrowLab is a one-of-a-kind learning opportunity for the sharpest minds who will not only get a chance to highlight their brilliance but also bag huge cash prizes! Let's break down the competition for you. 

Competition Structure-PLAN, PITCH & PERFORM!

Tata Steel TomorrowLab is branched into 2 tracks- Idea and Design. The contestants would be required to participate in a team of 3 members. For each track, the competition consists of 3 rounds which are as follows:

Round 1: PLAN

The challenge participants have to select a theme out of multiple themes to work on.  For the Idea track, the themes include Smart City solutions, Sustainable Packaging, Road Safety Solutions, Rural Ease of Farming Solutions, Water Management, etc. 

The Design track has three themes namely Transit Accommodation Design, Space Optimization Storage Solutions Design, and AgroNest – Smart Onion warehouse design. 

Round 2: PITCH

On the basis of the Round 1 submissions, top teams would be shortlisted for Round 2. The shortlisted teams will upload their detailed submissions for analysis.

Round 3: PERFORM (National Finale)

The teams with the best ideas/designs will be identified and shortlisted for the third round i.e. the National Finale. National Finalist teams will get to present their ideas in front of  the senior leadership of Tata Steel.

Evaluation Criteria

With regard to the judging process, the submissions would be assessed on the basis of the following criteria:

The following students are eligible to participate in Tata Steel TomorrowLab under the two tracks:

• Idea Track: Students pursuing B.Tech, M.Tech, and MBA irrespective of their specialization and year of study.
• Design Track: Open for all Design students, irrespective of their specialization and year of study. Students from the engineering discipline with design subjects in their curriculum can also register. 

Note: All the team members must be from the same institute/campus. However, cross-specialization and cross-year teams are allowed.
