Reliance T.U.P 4.0 National Finalist FMS Delhi's Nivedita Sinha's Story

The Ultimate Pitch, The Ultimate Moment! It was an honor to be the National Finalists of Reliance T.U.P 4.0. All the hard work that we had put in for months finally came to fruition. It was finally time to bask in the glory of it all.

We participated in the competition because of the faith we had in our idea and its utility. Reliance T.U.P 4.0 provided us with the supreme platform which values innovative, feasible and scalable ideas and we knew that this was our opportunity to make a significant impact on the society.

We prepared in a systematic manner by beginning with extensive secondary research and competitor analysis. This, combined with intensive brainstorming sessions led to further refinement of our idea as it helped us recognize the shortcomings of our product.

We also had several interview sessions with our target consumers to better understand the need gap and consumer requirements. Once the minute details had been finalized, all that remained was making a strong pitch, in both qualitative and quantitative terms, which could best represent the strength of our idea.

I was lucky to have a strong team wherein every member brought unique talents to the table. Our diverse perspective was helpful in building a product designed keeping different problems of the target consumer in mind. Any and all conflicts were amicably resolved.

Our team’s forte was its diversity. We had two engineers, an English graduate and a commerce graduate in our team. Consequently, we were collectively able to work upon the technical and financial aspects of the product while also ensuring a strong convincing presentation.

A well-organized competition with all necessities taken care of in a supremely luxurious manner. The judgment quality was best with different senior leaders of the Reliance team comprising the judging panel. Punctuality and pace of the event enamored the audience in an engaging manner.

The entire journey was full of learning. Besides what we were able to gather in the development of our own idea, we also learned from the presentations of other teams. There were several innovative and new ideas backed with intense research and facts, on diverse issues in the society. Thus, all the ideas were collectively very enlightening. Moreover, the interaction sessions with the senior leadership of the Reliance Group was very informative too.

Nivedita Sinha, an MBA student from FMS Delhi, is an English Literature graduate; can move the audience with intricately strewn together words akin to a magic spell (We wonder if that is what got her to the National Finals :p). We are just kidding. We don’t doubt her academic skills at all, after all, it's sheer hard work that makes you win such mind grueling competitions.
