RIVIGO Nexus 2018 1st Runners Up Anshuman Mohanty’s Story
We decided to participate in RIVIGO Nexus 2018 because we had heard a lot about groundbreaking stuff done by RIVIGO in the field of logistics. Another motivation was that I didn't have Ops background and hence wanted to see if my core strength (Strategy) can help me make the cut. Also, the CEO of RIVIGO is an IIM Lucknow alumnus & hence, it was a gradual inclination too.
Our preparation started with defining the problem and matching our understanding with the case. Our understanding was gradually shaped through repeated team discussions and individual research. The more we analyzed different perspectives, the more clear and efficient our solution became.
A team without conflicts is a rare phenomenon and it’s not a proud thing to say but we weren’t a part of this rarity. But we overcame every hurdle. We didn't have rigidity with what we propose and the flexibility helped in giving way to fruitful brainstorming sessions. We discussed everything fairly and reached our solution in an efficient manner. Major advantage of our team would be our flexibility, amazing research ability, and connections in the industry which helped us to get a flavor of reality.
We had our presentation through VC and hence didn't get a chance to see the presentations of other teams. But I am sure they must have been good. The distinguished judges were efficient in their fields and we knew that the decision taken by them would be the best one. RIVIGO Nexus 2018 was organized at such a big scale and I feel proud and happy to achieve this coup.
