About Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma is a name that needs no introduction in the world of cricket. Born on April 30, 1987, in Nagpur, Maharashtra, India, Rohit Sharma is a right-handed top-order batsman and an occasional off-break bowler.

Born to Gurunath Sharma (who worked as a caretaker of a transport firm storehouse) and Purnima Sharma, Rohit was always passionate about cricket as a child. He started playing at a young age and soon realized that this was his calling. However, that didn't stop him from completing his education. Rohit attended Swami Vivekanand International School in Mumbai and later enrolled in Rizvi College of Arts, Science, and Commerce to pursue his graduation.

Rohit Sharma's education qualification, school, and college

In 1999, Rohit's uncle enrolled him in a cricket camp owing to a lack of financial assistance at home. Dinesh Lad, the camp's coach, suggested Rohit to switch to Swami Vivekanand International School, Mumbai because of the school's better cricket training facilities and the fact that he was the head coach there.

Dinesh Lad trained Rohit without charging him a coaching fee, which provided the foundation for Sharma's early professional days.

It was his coach Dinesh Lad who noticed his battling ability and pushed him to open the innings. Thanks to the perfect blend of his hard work and good fortune, Rohit performed well in the Harris and Giles Shield school cricket competitions, scoring a century as an opener in his debut match.

Rohit Sharma's domestic cricket career was kickstarted in March 2005 when he made his List A debut for West Zone against Central Zone in Deodhar Trophy. It was during this tournament that he scored an impressive inning of 142 in 123 balls against North Zone at Udaipur.

Rohit Sharma's debut

Rohit Sharma made his debut for the Indian team in 2007 against Ireland. Although he didn't have a great start, he soon impressed everyone with his excellent batting prowess. His breakthrough moment came in 2013 when he scored a double century against Australia, making him only the third player to do so in ODI cricket history.

Rohit Sharma's IPL career

He made his debut in IPL for the Deccan Chargers in 2008 and later played for the Mumbai Indians in 2011. He has been a successful captain, leading Mumbai Indians to victory in multiple years, including 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2020.

Rohit's batting style is undoubtedly graceful, and is known for his ability to hit sixes with ease, which justifies his nickname "Hitman". He can handle any situation and adapt to it quickly, which makes him a crucial player for both the Indian cricket team and the Mumbai Indians.
