The Uttarakhand government is giving interested individuals a chance to engineer a better future for the state through its “Sashakt Uttarakhand Chief Minister Fellowship”, offered by the Uttarakhand Centre for Public Policy and Good Governance (CPPGG). 

Please note: The last date for application is May 20, 2023. 

CPPGG, a think tank within the Uttarakhand government’s Department of Planning, supports the State Government in bringing governance and policy reforms and expediting economic growth in the State. A project management unit (PMU) comprising highly qualified professionals has been formed at CPPGG to coordinate and manage the project. The Sashakt Uttarakhand Chief Minister Fellowship” has been conceptualized to provide technical assistance to the PMU and concerned government departments. As many as 10 different fellowships across six areas such as tourism, agriculture, social infrastructure, etc. are available for eligible applicants.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Fellowship Program 2023- Eligibility Criteria

The fellowship is open for individuals aged between 21 to 35 as of January 1, 2023, with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related discipline. All applicants need to possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and have a minimum experience of two years in related sectors.

A Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Livestock Management, Veterinary Science, or a related discipline with at least 60 percent marks or equivalent CGPA.

Infrastructure

B.Tech Degree in Civil/Mechanical/Structural Engineering or a related discipline with at least 60 percent marks or equivalent CGPA.

Social Sector

1

Master’s degree in Economics, Development Studies, Public Policy,Sociology, Political Science, Public Administration, or a related discipline with at least 60 percent marks or equivalent CGPA.

Urban Development

1

Master’s degree in Architecture, Urban Planning, Town Planning, Urban Governance, Geography, Regional Planning, Public Policy, Development Studies, or a related discipline with at least 60 percent marks or equivalent CGPA.

Tourism

Master’s degree in Tourism/Travel Management, Business Administration, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline with at least 60 percent marks or equivalent CGPA.

MBA/B. Tech in Civil/Mechanical/Structural Engineering or a related discipline with at least 50 percent marks or equivalent CGPA.

MBA/M. Com or Master’s degree in Financial Management, Industrial Relations, MSW or a related discipline with at least 60 percent marks or equivalent CGPA.

Selected fellows can serve a maximum tenure of two years – initially one year and extendable for the next one year based on the performance of the individual, and subject to a mutual agreement, will be allowed to the deserving fellows.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Fellowship Program 2023- Role & Stipend

Fellows will receive a monthly stipend of INR 75,000 in the first year. Based on satisfactory performance and subject to the contract extension, the fellows will receive an increment of up to 10 percent in their stipend.

All fellows will work directly under the supervision of the CEO-CPPGG/Addl. Secretary-Planning and PMU Team Leader/ HoD, depending on the tasks entrusted to them. The fellows will be allocated a variety of assignments by the CEO-CPPGG in consultation with the Sashakt Uttarakhand PMU, such as due diligence, background preparation to launch an ambitious reform, project management to fast-track implementation of priority projects, assisting government departments in preparing project plans, collection, and analysis, strengthen concurrent monitoring & evaluation in critical programs etc.

Fellows who successfully complete the program will receive a Certificate signed by the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Fellowship Program 2023- Application Process 

  • Register on the official portal of the fellowship program to fill out your application. 
  • Login using the username and password created while registering for submitting your application.
  • To submit your application, enter your basic information and correspondence address in the portal.
  • Select the sector you want to apply to based on your education qualifications and experience.
  • Describes "What makes you suitable for the Sashakt Uttarakhand CM Fellowship?" (minimum 250 words and maximum 300 words)
  • Enter your education qualification (along with supporting mark sheets).
  • Enter your work experience (along with supporting documents).
  • Upload your resume and submit the application. Your resume should not exceed two pages. The portion of the resume exceeding the page limit will not be evaluated.
  • Print the application form for your reference.

Shortlisted candidates will be assessed on the basis of their academic and professional qualifications, motivation for the fellowship program, response to the statement of purpose, years of work experience and personal interview.
