For any MBA aspirant, a good percentile in CAT offers an entry ticket to the prestigious MBA institutes in the country. However, considering the level of competition in CAT, it is best to sit for other MBA entrance exams as well. One of these is SNAP or Symbiosis National Aptitude Test 2024

SNAP score is used in the selection process by India's top private B-schools i.e. 15 Symbiosis MBA colleges in India such as Symbiosis Institute of Business Management (SIBM) Pune, SIIB Pune, SIBM Bengaluru, SCMHRD Pune, SIOM Nashik, etc. to fill 2,500 MBA seats in Symbiosis colleges. These colleges release their cut-offs one by one based on the SNAP exam. Each year, more than one lakh students from different streams take the SNAP Test. As given in the table above, three SNAP tests shall be conducted and the candidate can appear in up to 3 tests. However, the candidate has to decide well in advance and register accordingly if they have decided to appear for more than one attempt of SNAP. Out of the 3 attempts, the best performance in SNAP shall be taken for the percentile calculation of the candidate.

Syllabus for SNAP Exam 

SNAP syllabus is pretty vast with considerable similarity with CAT syllabus. However, the level of difficulty of SNAP is less than CAT. The candidates must be prepared with the important topics in order to score well. Here are some important topics that the candidates must be thorough with.

  • Candidate should be graduated with Mathematics at 10+2 level from any recognized University/ Institution of National Importance and with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grade (45% or equivalent grade for Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes) at graduation.
  • Candidates appearing for final year examinations can also apply, but their admission will be subject to obtaining a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grade in the qualifying examination.
  • A candidate who has completed qualifying qualifications from any Foreign University must obtain an equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

SIBM, Bengaluru

MBA (Quantitative Finance)

  • Candidate should be a graduate from any recognized University/ Institution of National Importance and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grade (45% marks or equivalent grade for Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes) at graduation level. The students must have studied Mathematics/ Statistics during Standard XII.
  • Candidates appearing for final year examinations can also apply, but their admission will be subject to obtaining a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grade in the qualifying examination.
  • A candidate who has completed qualifying qualifications from any Foreign University must obtain an equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

Step by Step Process for SNAP 2022 Registration 

The online registration and SNAP application form filling up can be done through the following steps: 

  • Register as New User & fill up your personal details and contact details to create a SNAP login id. Keep the softcopy of the passport size photo ready to be uploaded. The basic details must be carefully filled up to avoid any error. 
  • Select the exam centre from the list of exam cities. ( Be careful while selecting the exam centre as no change of city request shall be entertained later.) 
  • Using any of the given payment methods, make a payment of INR 1950/- against the exam registration fee. (For 3 SNAP exams, the fee is INR 5850/-).
  • Register for MBA programs of preferred Symbiosis Institutes
  • Make payment for the application fee of the Symbiosis MBA programme selected.

Now that you have an overall idea of SNAP,  keeping it as a backup is a good option. With the exam date approaching fast, the candidates must apply before the last date and start preparing from the SNAP point of view as early as possible.
