‘Success is no Accident' TEDx talk at IIM Amritsar

Indian Institute of Management, Amritsar successfully hosted its maiden TEDx talk on Wednesday. The event saw prolific speakers delivering power-packed speeches throughout the course of the day.

With ‘Success is no Accident’ as the theme of the talk, various speakers put forth their experiences and ways about attaining this stature. The speakers also motivated the students with various fascinating tales that unravels the importance of diligence and perseverance.

The event saw 13 impactful and scintillating speeches from various prolific speakers viz.

The flurry of data we are bombarded with is out of bounds for the mind to construe. There is a need to go slow to embrace diversity and shun judgements. There are no quick tips for success. Neither does a cookbook exist that contains the recipes of success. The thousands of fuzzy definitions of success in numerous books all but indicate that success is driven by the attitude of never giving up. The utilisation of common sense and being aware that success may cause accidents since the road to success is always slippery.

Art is never constrained to one style, neither can it be mastered in one stroke. A proper guidance is necessary to understand the art and promote it through the course of time. One must always experiment and explore. There may arise several possibilities in the life of women, but, due to difficulty in work-life balance, hostilities and lineage issues, they might be forced to drop out. However, with sheer determination, family support and passion for work can easily dwarf such difficulties.

The talk provided various stories and anecdotes which further asserted the belief that success comes through observation, participation, competence and confidence. To build on such things, self-belief is as important as the paths laid down to achieve it. In a nutshell, success requires hard work, learning, perseverance, sacrifice, loving what you do, struggle, faith, change and helping others.
