Heraclitus of Ephesus, in his undying wisdom, wrote a lot of interesting things. One of those is that “No man ever steps in the same river twice, for it’s not the same river and he’s not the same man.” Similarly, though the same two feet will walk into the conference hall at the beginning of the event, they will carry two different people out, at the end.

Something exciting is brewing in the distant land of Dadri, in Shiv Nadar University. It’s that time of the year again when the campus is abuzz with activity and anticipation - when the X’s begin to dominate the campus landscape. Obviously, Shiv Nadar University’s TEDx Club is active again! True to their promise, Shiv Nadar University’s TEDx Club is back with the fourth edition of its flagship conference - TEDxShivNadarUniversity 2019.

The event: TEDxShivNadarUniversity 2019

TED was born in 1984 out of Richard Wurman’s observance of the convergence among three fields- technology, design and entertainment. It has seen a profusion of milestones and achievements in the 35 years of its mission to spread ideas. Playing its own small role in this global movement is TEDxShivNadarUniversity.

TEDxShivNadarUniversity is an all-volunteer and not-for-profit event. The TED conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program. But individual TEDx events, including this, are self-organized. TEDxShivNadarUniversity offers interactive, immersive experiences for all participants, from speakers to attendees. It is a full-day event being curated by the members of TEDx Club, Shiv Nadar University. The goal of the event is to bring together sharp minds to give talks that are idea-focused and cover a wide range of subjects. It aims to foster learning and inspiration, thereby, provoking conversations that matter.

Last year, TEDxShivNadarUniversity 2018 witnessed meaningful, idea-focused conversations take flight. From a journalist to a poet, from a cricketer to a street artist, and from a director to an entrepreneur, it was an outstanding amalgamation of ideas and experiences.

The TED Talk theme: Blindspots

This year’s roster of TEDxShivNadarUniversity 2019 is no less stellar than that of last year. For the first time, the conference also has a theme – Blindspots. The unveiling of speakers, one by one, has increased the pre-event hype. Each of them is coming from a disparate field with a unique idea. With travelling photographers, sustainable fashion entrepreneurs, architectural acoustics researchers and fertility coaches in the speaker roster, the excitement for the conference couldn’t be any higher. Apart from this, comes an equally exciting lineup of performers featuring a band, a spoken word artist and a sand-artist; and for the first time ever, a 90% eco-friendly delegate kit!

The organizing team asks you for just this- come equipped with inquisitiveness to tap into the vast reserves of knowledge that the speakers bring to the TEDx platform.
