The admission procedure at IMT is out and here's everything you need to know about it

Candidates appearing for the admission procedure at IMT for all PGDM and MBA programmes must have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with a duration of 3 years minimum and a minimum of 50 percent aggregate marks. Candidates yet to appear for their final examinations can still apply and show the previous documents. The remaining documents need to presented at a later time to the institute.

Selection Process

Group Exercise

Candidates will be broken down into small groups and perform a group exercise. The duration will be roughly 30 minutes and the evaluation will be on the parameters given below:

• Ideation


• Innovation and Creativity


• Leadership Potential

Personal Interview

Conclusion of the PI will roughly be in 20-25 minutes for every candidate. The parameters on which candidates will be evaluated are given below:

• Communication and Interpersonal skills


• Analytical/Problem Solving Skills


• Business Affairs and General Awareness


• Domain Knowledge


• Future Potential for Employability

The final calculated merit of a candidate will be the cumulative weighted averaged of the below elements:

1. Test score Percentile (best score in CAT/XAT/GMAT/CMAT - For Hyderabad and Nagpur only)


2. Academic score & Quality of graduating institute/university/college


3. Work experience


4. Academic Diversity


5. Group Exercise


6. Personal Interview

IMT Ghaziabad:
For the admission procedure at IMT Ghaziabad, candidates should be registered for CAT 2019 or XAT 2020 or have taken or taking GMAT. In case the GMAT score has not been provided yet, a provisional processing will be put into effect which will be finalised only when the official GMAT score is received before March 15, 2020.

IMT Nagpur and IMT Hyderabad:
For the admission procedure at IMT Nagpur and Hyderabad, candidates should be registered for CAT 2019 or XAT 2020. or have taken or taking GMAT. In case the GMAT score has not been provided yet, a provisional processing will b put into effect which will be finalised only when the official GMAT score is received before March 15, 2020.

CMAT 2020 will only be considered for IMT Nagpur and Hyderabad.

IMT Dubai:

• Admission procedure at IMT Dubai is only for the One year MBA program. Candidates are required to have an undergraduate degree(full time) from a deemed university. A CGPA of at least 3.0 is mandatory or 50% equivalent in marks.


• Work experience of at least 2 years after graduation is required.


• Candidates with English as not their native language will need to take an English Proficiency Test. Minimum score for TOEFL is 550(paper) and 79(internet). For IELTS, a band of 6-0 is needed.
