TISSNET 2021 result declared on the official website

TISSNET 2021 result has been published on the official website. The exam was conducted by the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) on 20th February from 2 pm - 3:40 pm in a computer-based test mode across several centres all over India. TISSNET is one of the criteria for selection to various Masters programmes like MA/MSc/BEd - MEd integrated/MHA/MPM offered by the institutes  

Steps to check TISSNET 2021 result

Candidates can follow the following steps to check the TISSNET 2021 result:

  1. Visit the official TISS website: www.tiss.edu
  2. Click on the link “TISS NET 2021 Result Published”
  3. Enter your login details - Email id and Password
  4. Click on the Login button
  5. The TISSNET 2021 result will be displayed on the screen
  6. Candidates are advised to download the result for future reference

What was the TISSNET exam pattern?

TISSNET had a total of 100 objective type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) from three sections:

  1. General Awareness (40 Questions)
  2. Mathematics & Logical Reasoning (30 Questions)
  3. English Proficiency (30 Questions)

The questions could be attempted in any order from any of the above-mentioned sections.

There was no negative marking and the entire question paper was in the English language.

TISS campuses and their programmes

TISS offers teaching, research, and outreach programmes from four campuses Mumbai (Main and Naoroji); Tuljapur; Guwahati; Hyderabad. The Institute also offers teaching, training, research, and development support from Centres at Chennai, Patna, and Chuchuyimlang. These centers are supported by State/Central Government, various foundations, and the corporate sector.

Teaching at TISS during COVID

The COVID-19 pandemic necessitated shifting to an online mode for all programmes at TISS. TISS adopted all tools that can aid learning. Many of their programmes had used MOODLE in the past. To ensure continuity of learning for all students during the pandemic period, TISS developed an online learning platform for faculty and students to manage their teaching and learning. TISSOL adapted the latest open source MOODLE Learning Management System (LMS) and added several features to run its courses. TISSOL provided many opportunities for teacher-student and peer interaction, a variety of ways for faculty to adopt new modes of assessment, and multiple modes for faculty to present the courseware. 

Selection process

The candidate needs to successfully pass the following three levels to get selected for any of the master's degree programmes at TISS

  1. Students need to pass the TISS National Entrance Test (TISS - NET)
  2. The student also needs to qualify for the TISS Programme Aptitude Test (TISS - PAT)
  3. The last stage is the TISS Online Personal Interview (OPI)
