U.P. Abhyuday Yojana launched, get free coaching for UPSC, NEET, JEE and other exams

The Government of Uttar Pradesh has now opened registrations for the Mukhyamantri Abhyuday Scheme for students willing to appear in competitive exams. The UP Abhyuday Yojana, inaugurated by the Chief Minister of the state, Yogi Adityanath, was inaugurated on 15 February, 2021 through video conferencing. The scheme offers free coaching for UPSC, NEET, JEE, NDA, UPSSSC, CDS, TET, SSC, PO, and B.Ed. This is especially for those students who find it difficult to afford formal coaching for these competitive exams due to the financial crunch. 

The scheme has been launched in 18 Commissionerate headquarters in its first phase. Physical classes for free coaching for UPSC, JEE, NEET, etc will be conducted on their grounds. The scheme is planned to be further extended on the district-level in the next phase. The students will need to register online and the classes are set to begin on 16 February, 2021, in online as well as offline mode. The offline classes are to host about 50-100 students. To expand its reach, the lectures will also be uploaded online as well as live-streamed on YouTube and Facebook.

Registration under the scheme for free coaching for UPSC, NEET, JEE aspirants

The registration for free coaching began on 10 February, 2021. Within 20 hours of the registration portal getting live, 97000 students had already registered. The last date of registration is still unannounced. The steps to follow for registering for free coaching for UPSC, NEET, JEE and other exams are listed below.

  1. Go to the official website of the scheme.
  2. Scroll down the page, and click the ‘register now’ button.
  3. Select the examination you want to take free coaching for.
  4. Fill the application form requiring your name, phone no., division, address, etc.
  5. Verify your account (through the phone number or email-id) to receive a virtual calendar with dates of the classes and class links.
  6. Follow the calendar and log on to the portal accordingly. 

Study material, assessment & faculty

Along with free coaching for UPSC, JEE, NEET, and other exams, the students’ preparation will be supplemented with online study material for them. The study material, guest lectures, motivational speakers’ sessions will be arranged by a 12 member committee set up for the purpose. The Commissioner is likely to be allotted teaching hours for physics while the District Magistrate will be teaching history. Other state officials, IAS, IPS, IFS, PCS etc., will also be joining hands for the initiative. The teaching process would comprise the use of smart boards and smart classes, along with question banks for students online. The question banks will be made available on the official website. The scheme will also provide study materials from bigger coaching houses all over India. The students will be assessed through weekly and monthly tests. Their performance will be screened further by the faculty.
