Udita Pal, the co-founder of Bangalore-based fintech startup Salt, has become an internet sensation for trying to hire a man she met on a matrimonial site. She posted a WhatsApp chat with her father which contained his reaction when he found out what she had done.

The man in question had 7 years of fintech experience, and when Pal found that out she asked for his resume and sent him an interview link. To the amusement of Twitteratis, Pal wrote that her father almost disowned her for trying to hire a match from Jeevansathi.com.

"You know what you did. You cannot hire people from matrimonial sites," the exasperated Mr. Pal told her daughter on WhatsApp.

"What to tell his father now? I saw your message. You gave him interview link and asked for resume," he continued.

In the end, he called her a "crazy girl" and asked her to give a reply. It is clear from the conversation that Mr. Pal was angry beyond measure.

Udita, however, took it easy and started her reply with a "hehe". Then she said that the man had 7 years of experience and they are hiring at Salt.

In a later tweet, Udita confirmed that the hiring eventually did not take place. The man asked for a salary of INR 62 LPA along with ESOP - something Udita says Salt cannot afford now.

On the other hand, the good news is that her father deleted her Jeevansathi profile, unable to handle the embarrassing situation that it led to.

Meanwhile, Udita, on her part, sarcastically asked Twitteratis to not spew hate on her. "Pls don't drop hate on me, I cry very easily" she wrote.

The world of social media can't seem to get over what Pal has done. The tweet was shared by a Twitter handle called Peak Bengaluru, a startup-centric viral content curator which focuses on things that can only happen in Bengaluru - the startup capital of India.

Maybe, this is indeed an example of peak Bengaluru behavior!
