COVID-19 precautions undertaken by UK universities
The global spread of COVID-19 means that the universities have to take extra precautions to keep the students' safety a priority this year.
Most UK universities are currently offering a mixture of online and in-person lectures, but others are still teaching completely online for the first semester. This is subject to change depending on the government’s announcements. Whatever the mode of education is, the UK is determined to go the extra mile to make the foreign students feel safe and secure.
Besides ensuring that the campuses are sanitised properly, the UK government has provided Covid-19 guidelines for all non-healthcare settings including student accommodation which for your satisfaction, the UK universities are following closely.
Apart from that, international students in the UK can access support services such as airport pick up services, support through any self-isolation period, and food packages. Focus is also being put on the mental health of students through encouraging active participation in online sports and music weeks.
Almost all campuses in the UK have a special body to ensure the safety of their international students and they are being provided online support groups across universities and colleges, and other kinds of pastoral care.
