In a bid to drive technological innovations, Urban Company has decided that it will onboard more than 100 engineers in FY2022 in the home services industry. It recently announced the appointment of two senior executives to accelerate its business growth.
Amit Das has been appointed as the vice-president of Design and Research, who comes with experience of over 10 years. Rishabhdhwaj Singh, on the other hand, is the new vice-president of the Engineering department.
Raghav Chandra, the co-founder of Urban Company said that the hirings of these two people will play a crucial role in strengthening the designs and engineering capabilities of the company. He added that it will not only drive their next growth phase but will also enable them to build deep technology, invest in data science, and develop tech playbooks.
Das was already a part of Urban Company and has played an instrumental part in framing the foundations of the company’s designs. He has worked with e-commerce organisations namely Housing.com, Fab.com, and Cuddle.ai. He is all set to put in place the research wing at Urban Company with his world-class expertise. This will be done by enabling easy and simple customer journeys for better and greater user experiences.
Accelerating growth
Rishabhdhwaj Singh has worked with Ajio (B2B) and Flipkart, and also comes with experience of 10+ years. The official statement of the Urban Company said that he will ensure seamless quality control, while also training and onboard partners on the platform.
With his engineering solutions, Singh will head the Supply vertical and help in the expansion of the company’s warehousing capabilities, as well as build a robust supply chain.
Urban Company has recently opened its second head office in Bengaluru in March this year. Varun Khaitan, the co-founder of Urban Company said that the new office will attract more talent from the city and make it easier for people to join the company. While speaking of his plans to build a top-class team, Khaitan stressed that they have aggressive hiring plans this year.
“Urban Company will utilise the new investment towards innovation, training, product development, enhanced quality control and safety measures for both partners and consumers. The company also aims to increase its geographic footprint by entering the top 100 cities in India and further expanding into international markets,” the company had said.
