UPSC Notification 2022: 42 Gazetted Posts For Labour Enforcement Officer, Last Date To Apply 29th Sept!

An excellent opportunity for government job seekers seeking a gazetted permanent post. UPSC notification has been released for 42 posts (UR 23, EWS 4, OBC 6, SC 3, ST 6, PwBD 2) of Labour Enforcement Officer under the Ministry of Labour and Employment. This is a Group ‘B’ non-ministerial position. The place of posting would be in New Delhi with liability to serve anywhere in India. Here are the details. 

UPSC Notification 2022 for Labour Enforcement Officer: Eligibility 

The age limit for applying for Labout Enforcement Officer is 30 years as on the closing date of application. There is age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD and regularly appointed Central/U.T. Government servants. 

Educational Qualification 

The candidate must possess: 

  • Degree in any discipline with Commerce or Economics or Sociology or Social Work as one of the subjects from a recognized University or Institute
  • Diploma in Law or Labour Relations or Labour Welfare or Labour Laws or Industrial Relations or Sociology or Commerce or Social Work or Welfare Business Administration or Personnel Management from a recognized University or Institute.

NOTE: As per the UPSC official notification, the above qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the UPSC for reasons to be recorded in writing in case candidates are otherwise well qualified.

Experience

One Year of experience in Labour Law OR Labour Welfare OR Labour Relations OR Personnel Management in an Industrial Organization or a Government Establishment. This is not essential but desirable. 

Duties, Probation and Salary of Labour Enforcement Officer

The selected candidates will be expected to do the following: 

  • Inspect establishments, enforce labor laws, and promote labor welfare in Central Sphere Undertakings.
  • Prosecution of cases of defaulters.
  • Conciliation of Industrial Disputes.
  • Verification of Trade Union Membership & acquaintance with the trade union movement.
  • Special inquiries on labor matters.

The candidates will have to go through a probation period of 2 years. The payscale that shall be offered would be INR 44900-142400.
