All that you need to know about Google Science Fair 2014
The Google Science Fair is a global online competition for students aged 13 to 18. We’re thrilled you’ve decided to take part, so here’s what happens next.
- First things first, do you have a Google account? If not, you’ll need to sign up for a free one. Once you have your account, you can register for the competition.
- Follow the rules
- Dont Procastinate as the deadline is 12th May
- Get parental consent
- Go public
- Read the criteria to find out how our judges will evaluate your project.
- Use Google Tools
- Use only your own work
- Sorry, logos and music aren’t allowed. Images and video are fine, as long as you created them yourself.
- Find ideas using the idea sprinboatd for your project
- In order to submit your project and results, you will need to build a project site. It’s easy and all done within your Dashboardhere on GoogleScienceFair.com.
Grand Prize
- Includes a 10-day trip to the Galapagos Islands with National Geographic Expeditions, an incredible experience at the Virgin Galactic Spaceport and $50,000 in scholarship funding. It will truly change your life.
Age Category Prizes
- A scholarship worth $25,000 toward each winner’s education costs. If a team wins, this funding will be divided equally among the teammates.
- The finalists will have the second and third choice (chosen by random selection) of one of the remaining incredible experiences offered by The LEGO Group, National Geographic or Google.
- A LEGO trophy, LEGO MINDSTORMS Education EV3 expansion set, and one LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT 2.0 set signed by the LEGO MINDSTORMS design team, the CEO and owner of the LEGO Group, plus two LEGO MINDSTORMS sensors.
- The finalists' schools will enjoy one year’s free digital access to the Scientific American archives and print and digital subscription to Scientific American magazine for 12 months.
The 15 global finalists will receive a variety of exciting prizes.
