We, the Programming and Algorithms Group (PAG), are excited to invite you to our upcoming event, INSOMNIA 2026! This year’s edition is proudly sponsored by IMC, promising bigger challenges, bigger stakes, and an even more exciting competitive experience.
INSOMNIA’26 is an ICPC-style team programming contest where speed, logic, and teamwork determine who rises to the top. Participants will compete in an intense 4-hour coding battle, solving challenging algorithmic problems on Codeforces and racing to dominate the leaderboard.

Event Details:
- Date: Saturday, March 22, 2026
- Mode: Hybrid (Online & Offline)
- Platform: Codeforces
- Team Size: 1–3 Members per team
- Cash Prizes worth ₹2,00,000
- Participants may use their own computers
The contest will be conducted in a hybrid format.
Students from the following institutes are required to participate in offline mode:
- Indian Institute of Information Technology Hyderabad (IIITH): H-103
- Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) Varanasi (IIT BHU): ABLT4
- Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IITB): LA001
- Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IITG): Yoga Room (New SAC)
- Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IITM): CRC101/102
- Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IITR): APJ-004
Participants from all other institutes will participate in online mode.
The contest promises a rigorous and engaging problem set designed to challenge both experienced competitive programmers and enthusiastic newcomers alike.
Rules
- Participation is allowed in teams of up to 3 members.
- Teams must register before the event begins. Late registrations will not be accepted.
- Any form of cheating, plagiarism, or unfair collaboration will result in immediate disqualification.
- Accessing AI tools is not allowed.
- Screen recording and camera footage (along with audio recording) must be submitted, with all team members visible in the video at all times.
- Use of online editors and references is allowed.
- All the team members should be of the same college to be eligible for prizes.

About Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Roorkee
- The University of Roorkee, now IIT Roorkee, was established as the Thomason College of Engineering in the year 1847, and was converted to the First Technical University of India in the year 1949.
- On September 21, 2001, an Ordinance issued by the Government of India declared it as the nation's 7th Indian Institute of Technology.
- IIT Roorkee is situated at the foothill of Himalayas, in Hardwar district, within the state of Uttarakhand.
- The Institute has 2 campuses. The main campus is at Roorkee, Uttarakhand and the other one is 50 km away at Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh. The campus at Roorkee is spread over 356 acres of landscaped lush greenery while the campus at Saharanpur spans over 25 acres.
