Introducing Joka Finlytics Battle – a premier analytics case competition hosted by the Finance & Investment Club, IIM Calcutta, as part of Finance Summit ’25. This intellectual showdown challenges the sharpest minds to dive into real-world financial complexities, leveraging analytics to craft insightful, actionable solutions.
It’s a unique opportunity to showcase your analytical prowess, compete with some of the brightest students in the country, and gain unparalleled exposure to the world of finance and data-driven decision-making. Join us and help redefine the future of financial analytics!
General rules:
- This competition is open to all MBA students, Under Graduate and Post Graduate Students (except those from Engineering domain).
- A team should consist of 1-3 members. A student can only be part of one team for this competition.
- Inter-college teams are not allowed.
- Inter-specialization teams are allowed.
- There is no restriction on the number of teams per institute.
- Any deviation from the above rules will result in immediate disqualification.
- The decision of the judges will be final and binding.
Round 1: Online MCQ-based Quiz
- This round will comprise 20 questions to be answered in 20 minutes.
- The quiz window will remain open for 30 minutes, so teams are advised to start at least 10 minutes before the deadline.
- The questions must be answered in sequence and cannot be browsed. Once you move to the next question, you cannot go back to the previous one.
- The top 15 teams will be selected for the next round based on accuracy and speed.
Round 2: Case Study Submission
- The top 15 teams from Round 1 will advance to this round.
- The problem statement will be available for the qualifying teams after the case submission round is live.
- Teams should submit a PowerPoint presentation of no more than 8 slides (excluding the title slide) in .ppt/.pdf format containing the solution.
- The accompanying Excel file used for analysis should also be submitted in the designated field.
- Further details and specific requirements will be provided in the problem statement document.
- The top three teams, judged on the quality of their solution, innovation, and presentation, will be eligible to win prizes worth ₹18,000.
- The conducting body reserves the right to determine whether or not to publish all positions, based on the overall quality of the submissions.
