Participants will be classified into the roles of pitchers and investors to foster role-specific engagement. Participants(pitchers) will also be allocated ideas to work on, setting the foundation for the subsequent stages.

All that you need to know about The Shark Tank
Dive into the world of innovation and entrepreneurship with The Shark Tank! This exciting event offers freshers a unique chance to experience what it’s like to pitch a business idea in front of a panel of “Sharks.” Participants will be divided into teams, with some as Pitchers and others as Sharks. The Pitchers will work together to develop creative solutions for real-world industries, while the Sharks will evaluate and provide feedback, simulating a real-life investment scenario. Join us to build your public speaking skills, spark your creativity, and have fun exploring the world of startups!
Guidelines:
- The event will take place offline on the IIT(BHU) Varanasi campus.
- Participation is open exclusively to first-year B.Tech and B.Arch students from IIT(BHU) Varanasi.
- No prerequisites are required to join.
Rules:
- Team Formation: Roles (Sharks or Pitchers) will be assigned on the spot before competition starts.
- Originality: Pitches must be original and relevant to the assigned industry themes.
- Time Limits: Each pitch must stay within the specified time limits (3-5 minutes for Round 1, 7-10 minutes for Round 2, including Q&A).
- Judging Criteria: Pitches are evaluated based on creativity, feasibility, scalability, financial viability, and presentation skills.
- Respect and Professionalism: Participants should engage respectfully with both Sharks and fellow Pitchers.
- Final Decisions: The judges' decisions are final and must be respected by all participants

About Indian Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University (IIT - BHU)
- The Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University), Varanasi is situated on the campus of Banaras Hindu University spread over nearly 1300 acres at the southern end of the ancient city of Varanasi on the banks of the holy river Ganga.
- The Banaras Hindu University was established by Mahamana Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya Ji in the year 1916.
- This Banaras Hindu University has teaching and research facilities in over 135 diverse disciplines including ancient history, oriental learning, performing and fine arts, management, science, social sciences, etc.
- Later on, BHU started engineering education by being the first in the country to start degree courses in mining, metallurgy, ceramic engineering and pharmaceutics with the establishment of the College of Mining and Metallurgy and the College of Technology in the year 1923 and 1932 respectively.
- In 1969, the above three colleges were amalgamated to form the Institute of Technology.
- On 29th June 2012, the Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University (IT-BHU), got converted into Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University), Varanasi by the Government of India, New Delhi.
