Trilytics'25: Analytics Case Competition: Stages and Timelines
Round I - Quiz
The first round is a quiz consisting of questions testing your skills in data science, statistics, and quantitative aptitude. There will be 20 multiple-choice questions. 25 minutes is what you’ve got to prove your mettle!
Round II - Case Submission Round
Round 2 Instructions:
Shortlisted students will receive a case study to analyse and solve.
Submission requirements (in a single ZIP file named as 'TeamName_InstituteName' ("leader's institute")):
- A working Python code (TeamName_code.py) to predict farmers’ income
- An approach document (in presentation format, submitted as TeamName_presentation.pdf)
- A prediction file (TeamName_predictions.csv) using the original test file format (do not alter column names)
- Evaluation Metric: Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE)
Round III - Case Study Presentation Round
The shortlisted teams will present their case submissions to a panel of judges. Teams will be judged on the basis of their quality of research, domain knowledge, actionable insights and the communication of ideas.
All that you need to know about Trilytics'25: Analytics Case Competition
Trilytics is India's first tri-institute business analytics-themed flagship competition conducted by the students of PGDBA. PGDBA is a 2-year full-time residential program in Business Analytics jointly offered by three premier institutes ( IIM-Calcutta | IIT-Kharagpur | ISI-Kolkata ) that are pioneers in their respective domains.
We are proud to collaborate with L&T Finance, the title sponsor for Trilytics ’25.
Guidelines:
- The first round will be a quiz with twenty multiple-choice questions.
- Participants will be presented with an array of questions ranging from statistics and data science to quantitative aptitude.
- Shortlisted teams will proceed to the next round, where they will attempt to solve an analytics case study.
- The top qualifying teams will present their solutions to a panel of industry experts.
- The presentation round will be conducted in an offline mode at IIM Calcutta depending on the availability of the judges and the participants.
Rules:
- The participating team must have 1 to 4 members.
- The competition is open to all students.
- Cross-specialization and cross-year teams are allowed.
- A student can be a part of only one team.
- Only the team leader, who registered the team, will be able to appear in the quiz.
- Any deviation from the guidelines mentioned above will result in the immediate disqualification of the entire team.
- PPI opportunity for the winning team members, subject to terms and conditions.
