With the online version of Unmaad's flagship dramatics competition, take an escapade atop the cine topical. Let there be light (camera and, of course, action)!
A shorter, B-Wilder(ing) drive into a sunset on a cinephile's boulevard! Also, don't give away the ending, it's all we have!
Rules:
- In a team, there is a maximum limit of 20 comprising the core team and no limit on the support team.
- The registration has to be made before 11:59 PM, 28th February 2022.
- The non-theme-based event is open to all.
- The submission deck is to be uploaded onto Google Drive and the link is to be shared(with access permissions) through the registration portal by 11:59 PM, 28th February 2022. The deck should include:
- Video submission of the short movie (MP4/ MKV format)
- Document submission with cast, crew, credits (script and music), and a short description (400 words max.) of the submission
- Poster for the short film
- The team has the option to either submit an interactive short film or a straightforward short film.
- For interactive short film: See the attached document to understand the part video labeling. For example, label the first video as 1. At the end of the first video, on a black screen, the audience should be asked a choice to make from two options for the story to continue. Say, you call these choices, 2a (Go left) and 2b(Go right). Depending on what the live audience/ judges choose, the next video will be played. In essence, every team needs to be ready with alternate storylines and ending in accordance with the choices provided. It is up to the team on how many choices they want to give. Minimum one choice needs to be there, meaning a minimum 3 part video movies should be there.
- There will be only 1 round of submission. Top 10 entries will have poster launch through Unmaad social media handles and soft release live in the Unmaad main event.
- Stock footage or footage used that has not been shot by the college members for the particular movie must be given due credit in the film or credits. You need to submit the link of any such stock footage used at the time of submission. There is a limit of 20% on using stock footage. If any of the above rules are not followed, a penalty will be imposed in the final judging sheet.
- The judge's decision will be final.
- We reserve the right to change any of the rules.
- The script of the play can be original or adapted. Do credit should be given to the original playwright in the description if the script is adapted.
- There is no restriction on language. Embedded subtitles (not SRT file attachment) are required to be added in case of usage of languages other than English/ Hindi. If a small section uses some other language, then please add subtitles even for that. A penalty will be imposed in the final judging sheet if this is not followed.
- You are free to use a song, an instrumental or a mix of different background sounds/ music as the background score for your film. You need to provide proper credits in the description in case you use someone else’s creation. An original poem or original composition (music made especially for the movie) is allowed and appreciated. A penalty will be imposed in the final judging sheet if credits are not provided in the video credits in such a case.
- Animation movie is also allowed.
- The maximum duration for the short movie submission is 10 mins. Teams will be penalized for exceeding the given time limit of 10 minutes.
