Cognizant is hiring for the role of Network Security & Cloud Infrastructure Engineer!
Responsibilities of the Candidate:
- Design and implement secure network architectures that integrate cloud load balancing with on premises Cisco firewall and routing infrastructures to deliver resilient and scalable connectivity for enterprise applications.
- Configure and optimize cloud load balancing solutions to distribute traffic efficiently across hybrid environments while maintaining consistent security and performance policies.
- Manage and maintain Cisco firewall platforms including Cisco ASA and next generation Cisco firewall devices to enforce robust security postures across data center and branch networks.
- Analyze network traffic patterns and firewall logs to identify anomalies assess potential threats and fine tune security rules to reduce risk without impacting business critical services.
- Administer switching and routing configurations on Cisco devices to support segmented secure and highly available networks for production development and corporate workloads.
- Collaborate with application infrastructure and security teams to translate solution requirements into practical network and security designs that align with organizational standards and compliance needs.
- Troubleshoot complex connectivity performance and security issues across firewalls load balancers and routing layers to restore services swiftly and minimize downtime for business stakeholders.
- Document network designs configurations standard operating procedures and incident resolutions to enable consistent operations and effective knowledge sharing across the infrastructure team.
- Implement network and security changes using controlled processes including impact assessment change planning and validation testing to safeguard stability in the hybrid work model.
- Monitor key network performance and security indicators using enterprise tools to proactively detect issues and recommend capacity or configuration improvements that support future growth.
- Coordinate with external vendors and internal platform owners to evaluate new features or upgrades for cloud load balancing Cisco firewall and routing solutions that can improve resilience and security.
- Support day shift operations within a hybrid working model by providing expert guidance to colleagues and by participating in major incident resolution when critical network events occur.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance automation standardization and security hardening across the network stack thereby supporting the company mission of reliable and secure digital services.
Requirements:
- Demonstrate extensive experience working with cloud load balancing technologies and translating application requirements into robust and secure traffic distribution designs.
- Possess strong hands on expertise in Cisco ASA and other Cisco firewall platforms including policy configuration high availability setup and integration with security monitoring tools.
- Apply in depth knowledge of firewall concepts such as stateful inspection network address translation access control and remote connectivity to protect distributed enterprise environments.
- Bring proven experience with Cisco switching and routing including configuration of core distribution and access layers to support resilient segmented and performant networks.
- Exhibit practical understanding of hybrid cloud and on premises infrastructures including network integration patterns security zoning and connectivity optimization for cloud hosted applications.
- Utilize strong troubleshooting and analytical skills to diagnose multi layer network issues correlating data from logs metrics and traces to drive fast and accurate remediation actions.
- Communicate effectively with cross functional teams and stakeholders to explain network designs risks and changes in clear terms that support informed decision making and collaborative planning.
