Tata Motors is hiring for the role of Senior Manager (L5) - Tools & Accessories!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

  • Interacting with suppliers for design clarifications, engineering support during part development and testing,
  • Creating a concept design for the finalization of parts tools and accessories.
  • Interacting with vehicle engineering teams for verification and testing on vehicles.
  • Interaction with suppliers for part development and confirmation through customer support.
  • Coordinating CAE requirements for tools using a basic understanding of CAE.
  • Planning of activities like design, part procurement, and testing and validation.

Requirements:

  • B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical engineering
  • Design experience in PROE-CREO, good knowledge of tool design, PROE/CREO solid modeling, drawing creation, surfacing and assemblies, sheet metal design
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes
  • knowledge of GD&T, DFMEA, and testing processes, domain knowledge of vehicle attributes and systems, manufacturing processes
  • Good communication skills and coordination
  • Tool design practices, Automobile/ Vehicle engineering systems
  • Understanding of quality processes, ability to work alone & in a team environment
  • Knowledge of data management in PLM/Teamcenter

Key People

  • Guenter Butschek: the current CEO and Managing Director of Tata Motors, Guenter Butschek served as the Chief Operating Officer of Airbus and Member of the Group Executive Committee prior to joining Tata Motors. He attended the University of Cooperative Education Stuttgart, Germany to get a graduation degree in Business Administration and Economics with a diploma.

Mergers & Acquisitions

  • Jaguar & Land Rover Automotive Plc: on 2nd June 2008, Tata Motors announced the completion of the acquisition of Jaguar Land Rover businesses from Ford Motor Company at a cost of US$ 2.3 billion on a cash free, debt-free basis. According to the deal, Ford Motors also agreed to contribute $600 million to the Jaguar Land Rover pension plans. This acquisition of two premium British automakers presents the future of sustainable mobility.
  • Trilix Srl.: 80% stake of a Turin, Italy-based design and engineering company, Trilix Srl, was acquired by Tata Motors in October 2010, for consideration of €1.85 Million with the objective to enhance its styling/design capabilities to global standards.
  • Daewoo Commercial Vehicle Co Ltd (DWCV): Korean commercial vehicle manufacturer Daewoo Commercial Vehicle Co Ltd (DWCV) was acquired by Tata Motors in February 2004 fro a consideration of $102 million or ₹465 crore.
  • Hispano Carrocera: 21% stake of Hispano Carrocera, a Spanish bus and coach manufacturer was acquired by Tata Motors in 2005. The rest of the 79% stake was acquired by Tata Motors in 2009.
  • INCAT International: a UK-and US-based automotive and aerospace engineering company, INCAT International was acquired by Tata Technologies, a fully owned subsidiary of Tata Motors in August 2005 for £53.4 million.
