The internships were officially launched by Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, and according to him, this initiative will help to make India ‘future-ready’ by 2047.
As we prepare the roadmap for India @ 2047, the year India will complete 100 years of independence, we must work together and aim to provide 100 million internship opportunities in the next 2-3 years for boosting employability of youth and building a more productive economy.

The initiative to launch internship opportunities for the youth has come in the backdrop of NEP 2020 which aims to link multiple industries with academic institutions. In a recent change of policy, AICTE has made internships mandatory for students of all technical courses (Diploma/ UG/ PG), and 14-20 credits have been assigned for it (1 credit = 40/45 hours of work).
The ministry has partnered with reputed public and private enterprises, such as CISCO, Salesforce, Mahatma Gandhi National Council for Rural Education (MGNCRE), and RSB Transmission India Limited to provide the internships. You can check out the internship opportunities here.
