There are many scholarships that the girl students can apply to, for the academic session of 2020-2021. These exclusive scholarships for the girl students are offered by the Government of India and the various private institutions to support the talented girls who hail from financially low-income groups.
A list of 4 important scholarships is detailed below :
1. 'Shiksha ki Udaan' scholarship program
This scholarship program is designed specifically for girls and is a CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) effort of Samasta Microfinance Limited. The program aims to provide financial assistance to girls from economically weaker sections and hence, decrease the drop-out rate of girls.
The scholarship program is open to girl residents of Odisha and Bihar, who are studying in standard 11th. Added to that, they must have scored at least 60% of marks in their class 10th board examination. Their family income, from all sources, has to be less than INR 3 LPA. The current customers of Samasta Microfinance Limited can also apply for the scholarship.

2. AICTE Pragati Scholarship
Every year, the AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) implements this scholarship scheme under which around five thousand girl students are given monetary aid in order to pursue their higher education. The scholarship program aims to teach the girls self-confidence and empower them with skills and knowledge so that they can contribute towards the development of their nation.
Girl students who are currently pursuing a technical degree (or diploma) course and are either in their first or second years are eligible for the same. They must have been admitted laterally on the basis of their marks scored in 12th examination or any other examination of equivalent stature. The scholarship is limited to only two girls of a family, and their family’s annual income must be less than eight lacs per annum.

3. Post-Graduate Indira Gandhi Scholarship
Supporting about 3,000 girls every academic year, the Post-Graduate Indira Gandhi Scholarship enables the single girl child to pursue their postgraduate degrees without any hassle. This scheme is introduced by the UGC (University Grants Commission) in a bid to promote girl education.
The girls applying for this scholarship have to be thirty years or less and should be the only child of her family. She must have been admitted into the first year of a (regular, full-time) Master’s degree program at a reputed college or university.

4. L’Oreal India for Young Women in Science Scholarship
To motivate young girls to pursue their higher education in the science stream, L’Oreal India provides the “L’Oreal India for Young Women in Science Scholarship” (FYWIS). This initiative of L’Oreal under the FYWIS scholarship allows the girl students who have passed their 12th board examination in the science stream for the academic year 2019-2020, have scored at least 85%, and are subsequently enrolled in a science-related bachelor’s degree programme to apply for the same.
Through the scholarship, the girl students can avail up to INR 2.5 lacs in order to pursue their graduation. Their annual family income must be less than INR 4 LPA and the maximum age of the candidate should be 19 years as of May 31st, 2020.
Those candidates who have a one-year gap after taking their 12th board examinations are not eligible for this.
