Admission procedure at MDI Gurgaon for the PGP batch of 2020
The admission procedure at MDI spans across 2 stages.
Stage 1: Shortlisting of candidates
Candidates will be shortlisted for Written Analysis Test (WAT), Group Discussion (GD), and Personal Interview (PI). The cut-off will be decided based on the number of candidates that are required by the institute. This will happen on the basis of CAT 2019 which will include sectional cut-offs as well. Number of shortlisted candidates are the sole discretion of MDI Gurgaon.
Stage 2: Execution of WAT, GD, and PI
Written Analysis Test (WAT)
Candidates will be required to submit a written analysis on the topic provided to them. Evaluation of WAT is based on
- Analysis & Conceptual Clarity
- Grammar & Presentation
Group Discussion (GD)
Candidates will discuss topics given to them when they come in for said discussion. GD will be evaluated based on the following factors:
- Content & subject matter
- Group behaviour
Personal Interview (PI)
Upon completion of the Written Analysis Test (WAT) & Group Discussion (GD), the candidate will appear for the Personal Interview (PI) next. A candidate will be evaluated on 3 parameters:
- Analytical Ability
- Communication
- Personality Profile
Weightage for all concerned components of the admission procedure at MDI are given below:

| Application Score | X, XII, Academic Diversity, Gender Diversity and Work Experience | 15% |
| WAT + GD + PI | 30% |
The concluding merit list will be prepared based on the above parameters namely CAT 2019 score, cumulated Application Score, and the cumulated score of WAT + GD + PI.
Additional information for aspirants looking for a seat in the PGP 2020 batch of MDI:
- Candidates will be able to check the list of shortlisted candidates for WAT + GD + PI online
- These shortlisted candidates will have to select and submit their preferences for either PGPM/PGP-HRM/PGP-IM in the designated format during the execution of WAT + GD + PI
- There will be no change of preference allowed from the candidate's side once the preference has been conveyed
