Apollo Munich - Rise Up Challenge 2018-19 National Finalist Adrija Biswas' Story

Apollo Munich - Rise Up Challenge is one of the very few niche competitions from the insurance domain. We registered for the competition as soon as we heard about it. There were 3 rounds and each round was better than the other.

After clearing the first round i.e. the quiz round, we had 4 days to prepare and submit the solution for a case study. I found this phase the most challenging because, in a short span of time, we had to conduct primary and secondary research to come up with a path-breaking idea which Apollo Munich was looking for. During the ideation phase, we learnt a lot about the insurance domain in general, specifically health insurance and also about many social schemes.

Working with my teammate was easy and comfortable. This was because we had participated in many other competitions together. However, there were conflicts at times during the ideation phase. But we tried to resolve them by carefully listening to each other's point of view, analyzing them and taking the best judgement possible for the product we came up with and also for the company.

The composition of our team, according to me, was our forte. Since my teammate had a business management background and I am from human resource management, our idea was more diverse and varied.

Top 5 teams out of around 2000 teams that had participated across the nation made it to the finale. It was a special moment when we presented our idea to the executive team. We considered all the other four teams to be tough contenders and they all had out-of-the-box ideas to share.

Apollo Munich team framed and organized Apollo Munich - Rise Up Challenge 2018-19 in a brilliant manner. The organizers were very supportive throughout the competition and were really welcoming during the finale at AMHI headquarters in Gurgaon. The judging panel included executive leaders of the organization. It was really great to see them interact, judge, give feedback, and spend time with students during the finale. We learned a lot at each phase and our experience was enriching and far beyond our expectations.
